First of all, welcome! I’m delighted you’re here and taking the time to find out more!
I created my business name from two words: Innovation and Integrative. I will explain what each of these words mean. Then, I’ll define why the combination of the words is important to understanding what I offer through my coaching.
Innovation. BusinessDictionary.com defines innovation as “the process of translating an idea or invention into a good or service that creates value.” Innovation is the application or translation of an idea into something of value. Now let’s apply this to coaching and personal innovation. Lots of people have ideas and good intentions about how to solve problems or reach goals. (New Year’s Resolution, anyone?) However, it’s the sustainable process or system of making that idea or goal come to life that really makes it achievable.
Integrative. I prefer Cambridge Dictionary’s definition [the act or process of] “combining two or more things in an effective way.” In my coach approach, I believe that each individual coming to coaching is a complex, magnificent creation of God. And yes, I am a Christian. Read more about that here . Each person is unique and has an individual worldview, different areas of interest, strengths and weaknesses, gifts, skills and talents. Furthermore, people exist within a social system of everyone they know. For example, this can include their family, extended family, church, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, teams, and organizations. Thus, I believe that this larger context and environment is important to understanding the person and moving them forward.
Innovation + Integrative = Innogrative.
In summary: Innogrative Coaching is a partnership involving the creation and application of new ideas through change within the context of relationships.
Being innogrative means allowing yourself the freedom to test and try out new ideas. First, you must be open to tweaking or changing those ideas as you go in order to keep propelling yourself forward. Innogrative is the “unstuck” state of growth, and the fuel of high performance. Second, innogrative people flourish when they are connected. Ultimately, innogrative people leave lasting legacies and make a difference in the world.
