Have you ever put off cleaning your eyeglasses or sunglasses for too long? You know they’re dirty, smudgy, and icky, but you keep on putting up with them being that way until you finally decide to clean them. Once they’re clean, they are so crystal clear you’re in awe. Then you wonder why you put up with them being dirty for so long.
This is me and my eyeglasses and perhaps you and your glasses, too.
The bigger question here is, “Why do we tolerate things that frustrate, annoy, and drain us on a daily basis?”
I have a challenge for you, if you’re ready. I challenge you to take 15 minutes to make a list of all the things, big and small, that you are tolerating right now. Write what comes to mind first, and then when your thoughts start to slow down, here are some more areas to explore:
Home, relationships, community, job, health, finances.
Once you have your list, ask yourself how these tolerations are affecting your life. What might you do instead? What would it feel like to have nothing on this list? Then commit yourself to clearing the list and clearing your life, in priority order. You can do this, and you will be amazed at how much more energy you have as a result!
